Follow host detection, metadata retrieval, account authorization, session creation and the separate file-transfer stage.
Stage 1: identify the provider and file reference
The submitted address must match a supported provider and retain the part identifying the file. A valid-looking hostname alone is insufficient: a provider homepage, login page and individual file page are different routes. Host-specific guides document the expected address structure. Copying the original URL avoids losing an identifier or required query parameter while manually rebuilding it.
Stage 2: request the available file information
The service obtains the file details available from the integration. The interface can show a detected host, filename and size when these are returned. The source can instead report an unavailable file or incomplete information. This is a metadata result, not a full transfer test. Public service checks summarize recent generator metadata checks; their percentage must not be read as the percentage of files successfully saved by customers.
Stage 3: evaluate access attached to the account
The next action depends on whether the account can access the requested file. Active Premium and assigned quota are different access paths. A quota decision needs a known file size so it can be compared with the remaining allowance. An upgrade action indicates an access step rather than a completed download. These checks explain why two accounts can see different next actions for the same source URL.
Stage 4: prepare a temporary session
An eligible result can open the download session. Its controls may become available after the preparation timer. That percentage belongs to the session screen and is not a measurement of network throughput. Session addresses are temporary and can be private to the request; they should not be used as permanent public links. A fresh request starts with the original host URL, not an expired session address.
Stage 5: transfer the file to the client
The browser or download manager handles the actual transfer after the final action. Routing, source availability, connection quality and interruption can still affect it. Confirm the final state in that client rather than treating the result card as completion. This separation also makes support reports more useful: specify whether detection failed, access was unavailable, the session expired, or a started transfer stopped.
